classroom blogs

The first classroom I found was Mrs. Hopkins' classroom. She uses the blogs as part of a project. She assigned her students a character that came to America in the the past. The students then blog as their assigned character throughout the project. It was cool to read a few of the students blogs as many of them write in the 1700's or later. I think this is a great and fun way to get students involved in a project. The website for Mrs. Hopkins' blog is: http://mrshopkins.21classes.com/ .

The next blog I found was a third grade teacher,
Miss Higginbothan's. Her blog, titled 'Happy Headlines,' has assignments for her students listed everyday. She specifically outlines each subject with what their homework for that night would be. I think this is great and helpful. It allows the parents to see what the homework will be that night even if the student doesn't tell the parents. Also if a student is absent it will allow them to see what the missed and possibly not be so behind. Again if a student did not write down the homework then they can just get online and find out in a matter of seconds. The website for this is: http://www.butlerville.net/3a/ .
