I think that Sir Ken Robinson makes a wonderful point about life. I totally agree with him. He talks about your passion and how that plays into life. You must not only find something your good at but you need to enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it then you won't be truly happy. Just because you are really good at something doesn't mean that you enjoy it. If you enjoy it then you will make a difference. You never know where life is going to take you and one choice you make today could change your path forever. He also says that life is about what you make of the circumstances. If you have the right attitude then that will make all the difference. A point I like is that he tells a story with the point being that you should never let people make you feel stupid for finding your passion. I think that everyone has a passion and once we find it, it really does change everything.
As a future teacher I think this is very important to make sure that you love what you do. If you don't enjoy teaching you will not be able to fully give students the education they deserve. I finally found my passion and I hope that it changes things for me.
The second video we watched, he talked about schools and the way we do education today. Something that you don't think about but is true is that we put arts last in schools today. He is right to say we take away students creativity.creativity can allow a student to grow and maybe even learn more. Education today is about getting students ready for college. Academics are important but it doesn't allow students to be creative. Therefore not allowing students to fully grow. If you can help a student find their passion then they will truly be able to thrive in the classroom. Teaching is more important than ever and we need to allow our students to thrive. I really enjoyed watching these speeches by Sir Ken Robinson and I will definitely pass this message along. :)
