Growth Mindset

This video podcast talked about how students go into school thinking that they are as smart as they're ever going to get. But this is not true. Our minds are always growing and we need to make sure that we are doing things to help it grow. She talked about how when we keep doing things to help us learn we are going to operate at our best. Students need to make sure that they understand this and that they keep on trying to improve their brain. Students always need motivation. We need to make sure that we are positive in our motivation. As teachers we need to praise students and make them see the best in themselves. Making sure that they see there is always more out there is important.
Students need activities that will increase their brain skills. We as teachers need to make sure that we give them things to increase their brain skills. I guess sometimes what we as students consider busy work is helping us. As teachers, we need to create fun ways to keep students minds working. Whenever we see students falling into patterns where they think they aren't good enough we need to make sure that we help them out. I know there were times when I looked around and thought I wasn't as smart as the others in the classroom. But as teachers we need to be able to spot that and make sure that everyone in the room knows that they are smart and that they can do better.
